About Us

NW Contemporary Art was founded in 2020 by Tacoma-born artist Al Schwartz.

With a multi-disciplinary art career that spans over three decades, Schwartz, a WWU alumnus, has worked extensively in both the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii. His art resides in public and private collections all around the world, including the State of Hawaii’s permanent collection in Honolulu.

Being passionate about the cultural and societal significance of original works of art, NWCA's mission is to connect, touch lives, and ultimately add to the creative fabric of the community in which we all live.

We welcome you to experience our unique artwork online or in person at our contemporary fine art gallery in Bellingham, WA.
